Ngadi Chuli stands tall at 7,871m (7.871km) within the magnificent Mansiri Himal. It lies in the historically significant Gorkha district which falls in the western part of Nepal.
It is also famous as the Peak 29 or with other names like Dakura or Dakum. The locals call it the ‘ Dunapurna’. The word ‘Dunapurna’ came from two Sanskrit words; ‘Duna’ and ‘Purna’. ‘Duna’ means plates prepared out of leaves and ‘Purna’ means ‘goddess’ So, the mountain is considered the ‘leaf plate for goddess’ among the locals.
Ngadi Chuli is one of the tallest peaks within the Mansiri range and is well-known for the mesmerizing views of the surrounding mountains from its summit.
It has enormous mountains surrounding it, like Himalchuli at its south and Mt. Manaslu at its north. The route followed to climb Ngadi Chuli is home to the breathtaking forest of rhododendron, pine trees and magnolias.
Besides these, one can also spot various rare animals on their way. This route also has many glaciers, rivers, waterfalls and other stunning views that make the trip to reach the summit more enjoyable and exciting.
Once reaching the top, the mountain welcomes its climbers with mesmerizing views of the neighboring mountains like the Shringi, Saula, Himalchuli, Manaslu etc.
Like every other high mountain, challenges like altitude sickness, unpredictable weather are faced even while climbing Ngadi Chuli. However, the most challenging thing that one has to face during their expedition to Ngadi Chuli is going through the hard ice, which is difficult to climb.
This tough ice climb is considered one of the most difficult challenges to overcome. The unpredictable weather adds more difficulties for its climbers who wish to reach the summit of Ngadi Chuli. There is also a need for mixed climbing during the last climb to the peak of the mountain, which makes the climb more challenging.

The climb to Ngadi Chuli expedition is much easier during spring and autumn when the weather is comparatively warm as well as the chances of heavy snowfall and avalanches are less.
However, the majority of the expeditions are done in Autumn. Winter expeditions are rarely done as the temperature is harsher than other times. Also, there will be heavy snowfalls and chances of avalanches high during winter.
Climbing Ngadi Chuli is as hard as climbing other tall mountains. There are chances of altitude sickness, and the weather is unpredictable like that of other mountains. Besides this, to climb Ngadi Chuli, one has to overcome the tough ice. The routes covered with ice are difficult to ascend.

Climbing Ngadi Chuli might be an adventurous, thrilling and self-refreshing activity. But its massive height makes it dangerous too, so making a rush might not be the best thing to do considering your safety.
The overall adventure of climbing Ngadi Chuli takes around 38 days. During these 38 days, the basecamp is reached within 10 days.
Transportation: Includes pickups and drop-offs from and to the airport along with the domestic flights and jeep rides.
Food and accommodation: Accommodations will be provided in a 3-star hotel while staying in Kathmandu as well as during different stops in the trip. A welcome dinner will also be held to introduce our team with the clients. Later,3 meals will be served during the trip which will be cooked by talented cooks along with occasional teas and coffee.
Permits and fees: The company will pay for the air cargo charges as well as all the taxes to the Nepalese government on your behalf. The company will also take care of different Royalties and permits from the Nepalese government. Restricted Area Permits will be arranged. Entry fees and permits will be managed. TIMS cards will be provided. Permits for Walkie talkie as well as for satellite phone will also be provided. Additional fees will also be paid for deposition of garbage and stool shipment
Insurance: The company will cover for insurances of all the involved staff.
Equipment: All the tools and equipment that will be needed for the expedition will be transported by the company through air cargo and potters. In case of unfavorable circumstances, it may also be done through land or helicopters.
Liaison Officer, Sherpas and porters: Every member will be facilitated with one Sherpa and one porter. Also, a legit government Liaison will be present throughout the expedition
Base camp staffs and equipment: The base camp will be fully equipped with a separate kitchen tent, dining tent, communication tent along with a toilet tent along with all the other necessary items that are needed for a comfortable stay. Solar panels or generators will also be managed for electricity as well as the dining tent and other tents will be equipped with heaters to keep you warm. Expert cooks and porters will be there in the camp to assist you. The base camp will also have a bar and bakery.
Communication: Walkie talkie and satellite phones will be given to each member to communicate in between the base camp and the mountain. Internet access will also be granted.
Oxygen masks, bottles and regulators: Every member will be given 2 bottles of oxygen along with summit masks and regulators for their journey. More will be carried as a backup for emergencies along with a rescue sledge.
Certificate: The members will be honored with a certificate from MoCTCA for their accomplishment of climbing the mountain.
International flights: The clients have to bear their flights fees while arriving and leaving Nepal.
Visa and insurance: The clients are responsible for their VISA while arriving in Nepal. You have to pay for your insurance in case of any accidents
Meals in Kathmandu: While staying in Kathmandu before and after the actual expedition, you will be responsible to pay for your meals.
Personal belongings and interests: The clients are requested to arrange their own clothing and required gears while joining the expedition. You also have to arrange the items required to maintain their personal hygiene. You have to bear the additional charges for services like phone calls, hot bath, laundry etc. You have to pay an extra charge in case you want to shoot videos or capture pictures.
Tips and bonuses: It will be highly appreciated if the clients can make some tips and bonuses to the hardworking Sherpas and the base camp workers. While giving tips to the Sherpas, you are requested to give them no less than $1200.
Extra services: In case you have to return to Kathmandu and can’t wait for the trip to end then you have to bear all the travelling costs to Kathmandu yourself and also have to pay for extra days that you will spend in Kathmandu. In case you want any other services that are not mentioned above then you have to pay extra from your pocket.
