Langtang Lirung is the highest peak within the Langtang mountain range in Nepal and stands tall at 7,227m ( 7.227km). This mountain is surrounded by Trishuli Gandaki valley in the west, SunKoshi valley in the east and the renowned Shishapangma Peak in the west.
Langtang Lirung lies within the beautiful and diverse Langtang National Park. The park is home to diverse exotic flora and faunas. Climbers get to witness the untouched beauty of mother nature during the trip.
The area has as diverse as eighteen types of vegetation. Besides these, the magnificent view seen from its summit is another treat to your eyes and heart. Langtang Lirung Climbing Difficulties
Langtang Lirung is as hard as it can get. The geography and the massive height of the mountain pose challenges. The large south side of this mountain is one of the hinders that the climbers have to face while attempting to reach the top.
One needs to be both mentally and physically prepared for this trip. Because of the great difficulties on the way, only 14 attempts have been made to date. Out of which, only one has been successful. The climb is as thrilling and adventurous as it can get but, the difficulties are of another level.
One needs to be well prepared and guided with sharp technical climbing skills. Climbers also need to have previous experience of mountaineering before signing up for this trip.

When is Langtang Lirung usually climbed?
Climbing Mt .Langtang Lirung is as hard as it can get. One needs to be fully prepared both mentally and physically for this trip. They also need to have sharp technical climbing skills and previous experience before signing up for this trip. Because of these already existing challenges, the climbers climb the mountain during spring.
During spring, the weather is comparatively less challenging. It adds a bit of easiness to the trip.
How hard is it to climb Langtang Lirung?
Climbing Langtang Lirung is even more challenging than climbing other mountains. The climb requires expert preparation and guidance to make it successful. Out of fourteen attempts, only one has been successful to date.
The climbers have to go through a burdensome route. They have to be both mentally and physically prepared before signing up for this trip. The mountain’s large southern face of this mountain adds more challenge to the climbers. The climbers need to have sharp technical climbing skills as well as previous experiences in mountain climbing.
How long does it take to climb Langtang Lirung?
Climbing Langtang Lirung might be an adventurous, thrilling, and self-refreshing activity. Yet its massive height makes it dangerous too. So, making a rush might not be the best thing to do considering your safety. The overall adventure of climbing Langtang Lirung takes around 34 days. During these 34 days, it takes about ten days to reach the base camp.
Day 1: Arriving at a hotel in Kathmandu
Day 2-3: Briefing and preparing for the expedition
Day 4: Driving to Syabrubesi
Day 5: Trekking to Lama hotel
Day 6: Trekking to Langtang village
Day 7: Trekking to Kyanjin Gompa
Day 8: Rest day at Kyanjin Gompa to adjust in the high altitude and low temperature
Day 9: Trekking to Langtang Lirung Basecamp
Day 10-27: Climbing Langtang Lirung and returning back to the Basecamp
Day 28: Cleaning the place and preparing to return
Day 29: Trekking back to Langtang village
Day 30: Trekking back to Lama hotel
Day 31: Trekking back to Syabrubesi
Day 32: Driving back to Kathmandu
Day 33: Exploring Kathmandu
Day 34: Returning home
COST INCLUDES AND EXCLUDES
Cost includes(Base camp service)
Transportation: Includes pickups and drop-offs from and to the airport along with jeep rides.
Food and accommodation: Accommodations will be provided in a 3-star hotel while staying in Kathmandu as well as during different stops in the trip. A welcome dinner will also be held to introduce our team with the clients. Later,3 meals will be served during the trip which will be cooked by talented cooks along with occasional teas and coffee.
Permits and fees: The company will pay for the air cargo charges as well as all the taxes to the Nepalese government on your behalf. The company will also take care of different Royalties and permits from the Nepalese government. Permits and fees to enter Langtang National Park will be managed. Permits for Walkie talkie will also be provided for staff members. Fees will also be paid for deposition of garbage
Insurance: The company will cover for insurances of all the involved staff in case of accidents.
Equipment: All the tools and equipment that will be needed for the expedition will be transported by the company through air cargo and potters. In case of unfavorable circumstances, it may also be done through land or helicopters.
Liaison Officer, Sherpas and porters: Every member will be facilitated with one Sherpa and one porter. Also, a legit government Liaison will be present throughout the expedition
Base camp staffs and equipment: The base camp will be fully equipped with a separate kitchen tent, dining tent, communication tent along with a toilet tent along with all the other necessary items that are needed for a comfortable stay. Solar panels or generators will also be managed for electricity as well as the dining tent and other tents will be equipped with heaters to keep you warm. Expert cooks and porters will be there in the camp to assist you. The base camp will also have a bar and bakery.
Communication: Walkie talkie will be given to each member to communicate in between the base camp and the mountain. Internet access will also be granted.
Oxygen masks, bottles and regulators: Every member will be given required bottles of oxygen along with summit masks and regulators for their journey. More will be carried as a backup for emergencies along with a rescue sledge.
Certificate: The members will be honored with a certificate from MoCTCA for their accomplishment of climbing the mountain.
International flights: The clients have to bear their flights fees while arriving and leaving Nepal.
Visa and insurance: The clients are responsible for their VISA while arriving in Nepal. You have to pay for your insurance in case of any accidents.
Personal belongings and interests: The clients are requested to arrange their own clothing and required gears while joining the expedition. They also have to arrange the items required to maintain their personal hygiene. They have to bear the additional charges for services like phone calls, hot bath, laundry etc. They have to pay an extra charge in case they want to shoot videos or capture pictures.
Tips and bonuses: It will be highly appreciated if the clients can make some tips and bonuses to the hardworking Sherpas and the base camp workers.
Extra services: Extra permit charge has to be paid if you wish to use a satellite phone and an extra $300 if you have to travel with an extra yak. Also, in case you have to return to Kathmandu and can’t wait for the trip to end then you have to bear all the travelling costs to Kathmandu yourself and also have to pay for extra days that you will spend in Kathmandu. In case you want any other services that are not mentioned above then you have to pay extra from your pocket.
