Hotel Everest view
Everest view hotel is no other than a beautiful hotel established within an Everest region that offers a 360-degree view of the mighty Mount Everest, the world’s tallest mountain peak. Hotel Everest View is situated at 13000 feet and was opened in 1971. In 2004, it was listed on the Guinness book of world record as the highest placed hotel in the world. Since then, the hotel Everest view has been mentioned in many guides, tour books, and received media coverage, and now the hotel itself is a very popular tourist destination. It is a perfect place for adventure, and to explore the nearby villages, see the beautiful landscapes, and the view of Mount Everest from each room of the hotel. The project of building a hotel at such height is no small deal. It is obvious to take several years for such a project to finish. Even in this current time, it is very difficult to build a hotel in such a height, let alone to have built-in 60’s. With no access to road and transportation, the construction of Hotel Everest view was very challenging. They were porters who carried necessary items on a 2-week trek from Lamusangu (80km from Kathmandu) to all the way up to the construction site. However, the hotel was beautifully constructed and was designed by Japanese architecture. From the very first day to this date, the hotel has received praise and recognition from people all over the world and has been gaining more and more popularity.
There are 12 rooms in the hotel designed to offer a panoramic view of Mount Everest and other surrounding peaks. The room has attached bathrooms, a sitting room, and beautiful stone-walled balconies. The room also features a dressing area, small study area, room heater, thermos, and electric blanket. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. Besides them, the hotel also has a 24-hour service of laundry, credit card payment facility, dining room, bar, and souvenir shop.
There is absolutely no doubt, hotel Everest view serves the most delicious cuisine and offers the best dining experience. The dining room can host 30 guests and the terrace can host 50 guests. So basically, any trekkers or visitors of helicopter tours are welcomed in the hotel. The hotel offers a variety of food. Continental breakfast, Japanese style oyakodon, a club sandwich, fillet mignon with fresh vegetables. All the staff in Hotel Everest view including the cook have more than 10 years’ experience.
There are several ways to reach the hotel. Roadway, and airway. For the trekkers, first, you need to take a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and you can hike from Lukla to Phakding (3 hours walk). From Phakding to Namche Bazar (6 hours walk), and finally, from Namche Bazar, you can reach Hotel Everest view in just 2 hours. For those who are under limited time, the hotel can arrange a helicopter tour. You can either take a helicopter ride from Kathmandu to Syangboche directly or you can take a domestic flight up to Lukla, and a helicopter from Lukla to Syangboche. This way is relatively cheaper than chartering a helicopter from Kathmandu.
